This week has been very interesting, I was reading an article on places to travel, I came across a beautiful place in Cancun and the name is Chichen Itza, it is beautiful with rain forest remotely with water holes called cenotes. Cenotes are still sacred to the Mayan people today, meaning most cenotes are closed off from public use. Tulum is home to the largest underwater cave system in the world. The Sac Actun System (Sistema Sac Actun) meaning “white cave system” is an impressive at 347 kilometers (215 miles) long. I am hopping to visit soon. In my country the indigenous people are Mayan. Living in Guatemala growing up I remember going to the mountains and visiting a place called Tikal. The culture is so rich and interesting as Mayas believed in different Gods. The Mayans religion involved several aspects of nature, astronomy and rituals. Most Gods represented a form in nature, for example, Sun God, Kinih Ahous, or Maize God, Yum Kaax. The Mayans were known for their calenders and astronomical buildings and there are so much to learn from this beautiful culture.
